The Good Times Auction

CCET's Annual ~ Encan du bon temps ~
The Good Times Auction Set for March 31

Let the good times roll with the third annual Encan du bon temps (Good Times Auction), a fundraiser for the Center for Cultural and Eco-Tourism (CCET). Join us Thursday, March 31 at Esprit de Coeur located at 402 Garfield St. in Downtown Lafayette.

What began as a way for CCET to showcase Louisiana artists while raising funds to support CCET's efforts has evolved into Encan du bon temps, an evening of entertainment and auction that features cultural keepsakes you can't find anywhere else.

CCET is excited to announce Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Secretary Scott Angelle will serve as auctioneer for the 2011 Encan du bon temps (Good Times Auction). Angelle will bring his wit and charm--and appreciation for the cultural and creative expressions of Louisiana artists--to the auction stage at 7:30 p.m. auctioning off work from artists, archives, humanists and revered tradition bearers.

A $20 donation grants you access to the auction as well as free food, drinks and music. VIP tickets include reserved parking and special auction preview for the event. All proceeds support CCET's regular outreach and free community programming, including its monthly In Your Own Backyard series at Vermilionville. Money raised will also fund fieldwork to grow the Archives of Cajun & Creole Folklore with interviews and documentation of little known or near-extinct traditions of our culture, as well as fund the student staff at CCET and an upcoming music release.

For more information or to purchase tickets to the event contact the Center for Cultural and Eco-Tourism at (337) 482-1320 or ccet@louisiana.edu.

Thanks to all of our sponsors!

Center for Cultural and Eco-Tourism
The Center for Cultural and Eco-Tourism at UL-Lafayette seeks to engage communities and spark dialog amongst the various peoples of Louisiana, as well as preserve and share the traditions and nuances of Louisiana culture. This is accomplished through an extensive website of resources and information, an active fieldwork and archiving program, community outreach and programming, and the research of center fellows.
