Jay Huner's Website
Jay V. Huner holds a Ph.D. in Marine Sciences from Louisiana State University - 1975 - and a B.S. in Zoology and Physiology from Louisiana State University - 1968. A 3 year+ stint in the U.S. Air Force as a Food Service Officer interrupted his graduate studies in the early 70's. Since graduating from Louisiana State University, Dr. Huner has worked in the Biology Department and Small Farm Research Center at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 1975-88.
Dr. Huner has been associated with the International Association of Astacology, the international freshwater crawfish association, since 1974 shortly after it was founded in Austria in 1972. He has held all elected positions in the IAA and has served as the General Manager of the IAA's Permanent Home Secretariat (office) since the latter half of the 1980s.
